Fire Cause Analysis – A fire scene is often where OnSite’s team begins the process of fire cause analysis. At the scene, engineers and technicians begin documenting the fire scene, evaluating conditions of the fire scene, and begin collecting physical evidence and data. Some evidence is examined on the scene utilizing portable equipment, while additional evidence may be brought to the laboratory for further investigation. After detailed examination and testing, engineers can determine whether the cause of a fire was electrical in nature.

Evidence Testing and Reconstruction – In some cases, our team of engineers and technicians procure exemplar equipment to those that have been involved in a fire. The team is then able to perform small scale and large scale testing in a way that reconstructs conditions surrounding the fire.  The results are used in fire cause or failure analysis. A large outdoor testing area is available at OnSite’s main office and laboratory.
